CogniVenue-Legal can generate local suggestions from uploaded document text. These suggestions are designed to help you review, organize, and draft faster while keeping final judgment with you.

AI generated entries
Local AI analysis can create or suggest material for:
- Legal Diary.
- Issues.
- Facts.
- Evidence.
- Tasks/To-dos.
- Drafts.
- Authorities.
- Research.
- AI legal indexes attached to documents.
Generated entries stay marked as generated, Local AI, or Needs review so you can distinguish them from user-created work.
Where entries appear
Select a Case, then Issues, Legal Diary, Facts, Evidence, Tasks/To-dos, Drafts, Authorities, or Research in its left-pane sections. The center pane displays that section’s scrollable Saved and Local AI Suggestions groups beneath the Add/Refresh AI/Export toolbar. Scroll past Saved to reach further pending suggestions.
These are Case-wide section entries, not a list filtered by the document you last clicked. Clicking a document opens its viewer. The separate Structure / AI Legal panel indexes one focused document; a section entry’s Source button opens the supporting document for that entry.
Needs review means pending; User means manually created; Local AI identifies saved AI-origin work. Some Drafts and Research entries are generated directly into Saved and still require source checking. Saved does not necessarily mean you personally accepted the entry.
See Center-pane section buttons for a quick action guide and Work with section entries for full Source, Edit, Accept/Dismiss/Hide/Delete, Copy to Canvas, Legal Diary/task-date, calendar export, and PDF-export instructions.
Before running local AI
For best results:
- Upload the relevant documents.
- Wait for OCR or text extraction to finish.
- Wait for indexing to finish.
- Open the Case section you want to review.
- Use Refresh AI.
If a document is still processing, suggestions may be missing or incomplete.

Refresh AI
Use Refresh AI in a Case section after uploading or changing documents.
Refresh AI reads local extracted text and generates suggestions for the current Case. It can update section entries and suggestions without requiring internet access.
If Refresh AI cannot run:
- Check whether the documents finished OCR/indexing.
- Confirm documents belong to the active Case.
- Try again after a short wait.
- See Troubleshooting local AI.
Review local AI suggestions
Suggestions are working leads, not final conclusions.
When reviewing a suggestion:
- Read the suggestion title and body.
- Open the source document or source page when available.
- Confirm the quote, date, issue, authority, or evidence point.
- Accept it if useful.
- Edit it if partly useful.
- Remove it if irrelevant or unreliable.
Accept, edit, or remove suggestions
Use accepted suggestions to build the saved section. Use edits to convert a rough suggestion into matter-ready work.
The available buttons distinguish the actions: Accept saves a pending suggestion, Dismiss hides a pending suggestion, Hide hides an accepted AI entry, and Delete removes a user-created entry. Edit alone does not accept a suggestion. Tasks offer a due-date choice when accepted.
The complete section workflow also includes adding your own entries, opening their source passages, copying them into Canvas cards, copying confirmed dated entries as calendar text, and exporting selected entries to PDF or .ics calendar files. See Work with section entries and Legal Diary and task dates.
Suggested review standards:
- Keep source-backed facts clear.
- Separate legal issues from evidence.
- Keep tentative research leads marked as research until verified.
- Convert AI draft starters into your own reviewed drafting notes.
- Remove duplicates.
Legal Diary suggestions
Legal Diary suggestions look for date/time and event-like sentences in documents, emails, MSG text, and calendar text. They may be tagged as events, hearings, deadlines, actions, meetings, or reminders.
Review for:
- Correct date.
- Correct time, if one was extracted.
- Correct event sequence.
- Whether the event is allegation, admission, or proven fact.
- Source page.
- Missing context.
- Whether it should be accepted into the diary or deleted as irrelevant.
Issue suggestions
Issue suggestions look for common legal dispute patterns such as limitation, maintainability, breach, payment, delivery, notice, interim relief, and related issue markers.
Review for:
- Whether it is actually an issue in the matter.
- Whether it is legal, factual, evidentiary, or procedural.
- Whether it needs authority research.
- Which party carries the burden.
Fact suggestions
Fact suggestions identify potentially material factual statements.
Review for:
- Source accuracy.
- Whether the fact is admitted, disputed, inferred, or merely alleged.
- Whether it belongs in Facts, Evidence, Legal Diary, or Issues.
Evidence suggestions
Evidence suggestions identify proof points such as emails, invoices, notices, agreements, records, payment material, delivery records, images, or correspondence.
Review for:
- What the item proves.
- Which issue it supports.
- Whether the document is admissible or needs authentication.
- Whether a better source exists.
Task suggestions
Task suggestions are follow-up actions from the document set.
Examples:
- Check limitation dates.
- Verify payment records.
- Locate missing correspondence.
- Review notice and reply.
- Confirm authority position.
Treat them as a worklist and edit them into concrete next steps.
Draft suggestions
Draft suggestions can include:
- Case summary starters.
- Notice or reply outlines.
- Chronology and pleading outlines.
- Issue-based drafting prompts.
Do not treat generated draft text as final. Use it as a structured starting point and revise against the source documents.
Authority suggestions
Authority suggestions identify statutes, cases, rules, clauses, or legal citations mentioned in source text.
Review for:
- Correct citation.
- Current legal position.
- Relevance to the issue.
- Whether the authority is binding or persuasive.
- Whether the quoted passage is accurate.
Research suggestions
Research suggestions identify legal questions, related passages, and possible authorities to investigate.
Use Research for questions that are not yet ready to become Issues, Authorities, or Drafts.
AI legal index and section suggestions
AI legal index items are document-linked generated annotations. Section suggestions are Case-linked generated entries.
Use the document AI legal index to understand one document. Use section suggestions to organize the whole Case.
